Asias hiv threat galvanises governments for world's biggest anti-viral fight

A major viral outbreak involving an asias hiv (HIV) vaccine has gripped countries around the world, from Pakistan to India, as doctors continue a global campaign that has stopped infections in people from Africa and Asia.

The Global Alliance Against Malaria (GAAM), a network of medical workers from around the world, said that an annual report from its Global Malaria Report showed that, with one month remaining for vaccinations, more than 3,000 lives were saved by the vaccine in the 12 countries studied.

The global campaign is backed up by a new global anti-viral campaign aimed at stopping the spread of HIV, which has infected more than half a million people worldwide between 2006 and 2015.

India, where an estimated 60,000 people have died from AIDS since 1990, has emerged as a major test case. The country is the world's second biggest market for the vaccine, with the estimated world market worth more than $60bn in the country last year.

The vaccine is effective in preventing the human immunodeficiency virus type 1, a strain of the virus that can be passed to other animals.

But it poses problems for smallpox. The vaccine does not prevent smallpox infection, but the virus that causes the disease can spread from people who have already been exposed to it.

In countries where no vaccine is available, it may be a good way of stopping the spread of the disease, but in others – notably Africa and Asia – the vaccine is not effective.

The vaccine contains the active ingredients of the virus but doesn't completely block it, so people may develop smallpox after getting it. In addition, some countries in the region have had a history of large-scale epidemics caused by infections with the virus, which were linked to high levels of resistance.

The vaccine is also an important part of many people's lives – the average cost of the vaccine is $500 in the US, and $700 in the UK.

Last month, the global coalition said in a statement: "The Global Alliance Against Malaria has achieved incredible results in preventing HIV and other neglected tropical diseases in the past five years. The Global Alliance will continue to make major investments in prevention, development and surveillance. The Global Alliance will work with other organizations, including the World Health Organization, the World Bank and our partners, to take further steps to reduce the burden of neglected tropical diseases."

The global team of medical workers on the anti-viral campaign are among the best in the world and have made notable discoveries that have helped them combat HIV infection.

In 2010, they discovered an active HIV virus in the virus that causes the disease, the virus that can b

Travolta to play mafia big gotti report: The film, co-written by Tony Scott and Joe Carnahan, will follow the rise and fall of the Sicilian Mafia, from the original leader, Frank Sinatra, to today's rising star, Donald Trump.

"It's a little bit dark and a little bit shocking and there's something very sad about being a mafia kingpin when you're an actor who actually isn't," he told The Playlist in a recent interview at Cannes. "When I sit in my office, I say, 'I can never again work in that town. I don't like this town' - which is very much true. And I would never get back to it, as it had gotten me to this place. But it was fun to get back to it."

Travolta, who has always been protective of himself from having to deal with so much criticism over the years, added he was surprised by how much he enjoys working with Scott, who told him not to fear that people might dislike him for "the fact that we're not celebrities and that everybody goes, 'We hate you for being a comedian.' He said that the hardest thing about working with me as an actor is trying to be as open, as free as I could possibly be."

But, he was also thrilled that Scott was bringing back his acting career - and what he meant when he told him the script was written "at age 22" that the "Mafia" was not just an anti-establishment movie.

"I'd never been on a mainstream movie before," he said. "I couldn't imagine going on a mainstream movie and going to this little film called Mafia. I knew it was going to be big and I knew it was going to be violent and I knew it was going to be very dark, but I still didn't know how I was going to feel about it. So I was excited. I was ready to go in there and be the guy. I was excited to be the guy who got shot by Mr. Scarbrough, shot him through the heart. The guy who got stabbed in the face and got the bullet left in his chest and the hole there that he was going to die in for years and years and years. That was a scary thing."

Travolta's character is an ambitious businessman with "a lot of money" (which in his opinion isn't always the case with young stars coming through the industry). But he's a guy who is also very "bureaucratic," Scott explains, and, when he meets someone new and they give him advice or somethin
